Facial Skincare Foundation Training

What You Will Learn

• Health, safety and hygiene for professional facial treatments
• How to carry out a thorough client consultation

• How to analyse the skin and recognise different skin types and skin concerns
• How to perform a full facial skincare routine, including cleanser, toner, exfoliator, mask and moisturiser

• The correct aftercare advice to give your clients after treatment

By the end of the course, you’ll feel confident carrying out a complete beginner facial treatment from consultation through to aftercare.

This is a 1-day, in-person training course running from 10:00am – 3:30pm.

The day is highly practical and hands-on.
We begin with a focused theory introduction to build your understanding, followed by a full tutor demonstration before moving into guided practical work.

Students will practice step-by-step under close supervision to ensure correct technique, confidence and safety.

There are no exams or written case studies required. Your competence is assessed informally throughout the day by your tutor during practical work.

Upon booking, you’ll be sent a confirmation email with course e-manual attached. We recommend reading this before your training day to get the most from your course.

After completing the training day, you will feel confident delivering structured, beginner-level yet professional facial treatments, such as:

More importantly, you will understand the structure behind a professional facial — from consultation and skin assessment through to treatment planning and safe product application.

This course builds your confidence, technical understanding and treatment flow, creating the groundwork needed before progressing into more advanced skincare treatments in the future.

It is ideal for beginners who want to enter the beauty industry correctly, as well as therapists looking to strengthen their core facial knowledge before expanding their service menu.

For this course, we provide one live model, so you do not need to source your own for the practical assessment.

Students will also receive a facial treatment themselves during the course, allowing you to experience the treatment from the client’s perspective and gain a better understanding of the full facial journey, treatment feel and overall client experience.

This means you’ll have the opportunity to both give and receive a facial in a structured, supervised academy environment, helping to build your confidence, technique and understanding of professional treatment standards.

If you have are unable to have a facial due to medical or health conditions please notify us in advance once you have purchased your course.

Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive an accredited certificate recognised by Associated Beauty Therapists (ABT).

This allows you to obtain professional insurance and begin offering facial treatments to paying clients straight away.
